Sustainable Timber
- In April 2015 we made the decision to purchase solely FSC® certified material (C018887) wherever available and regardless of whether specified.
- Whilst this has come at a cost - we believe responsible purchasing is paramount and we genuinely hope our competitors follow suit.
Energy Consumption
- Our 150 kW Solar Panel array contributes a significant proportion of our energy needs and when we’re not using it - were exporting clean energy to the grid.
- Energy efficient LED lighting has been installed throughout our factory and offices, significantly reducing our consumption.
- Wood Waste Heating system keeps our factory toasty warm in winter and reduces our dependency on fossil fuels.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Timber offcuts are always recycled into useable products where possible.
- Waste timber which cannot be recycled provides heating for our factory.
- We support the Humber Recycling project – a social enterprise with the aim of reducing wood waste, saving resources and to create training, volunteering and workplace opportunities for disadvantaged or marginalised people.
ISO14001 - Environmental Management
- Bringing in new environmental initiatives and technology is integral to our overall strategy of managing and improving our environmental performance.
- Our ISO14001:2015 accredited management system has given us the medium to do this, whilst also helping to improve the efficiency and productivity of our business.
