C W Fields & Son supplied various bespoke Joinery solutions and doorset assemblies to the Quintiles pharmaceutical services award-winning, BREEAM rated offices in Reading.

The project was on a tight deadline of only 16 weeks and was very successful winning the British Council for Offices (BCO) Fit Out of Workspace Award and the OAS Award for Best Development Outside London.

The impressive atrium included a large reception area and business lounge in need of creative solutions offering flexible spaces to encourage collaboration.

The Solution

C W Fields & Son supplied four bespoke curved feature screens for the business lounge area, which using an innovative design solution, fitted together to create unique seating quadrants, incorporating ambient lighting.

A matching curved lighting feature was supplied to frame the kitchen area; both were finished with crown cut walnut veneer.

A large bespoke reception desk with an angular design provided an open, welcoming area with plenty of work space, whist large red leather upholstered seating booths provided an interesting feature within the 200 seat dining area.

Also within our scope for the project, a range of bespoke walnut veneered doorsets were supplied throughout the four floors of office space. The solution used both the Fields Duracore and Fields Timbercore to achieve the necessary FD30 and FD60 fire rating.
